Mortality Tabes is a collaborative arts project founded by Woburn Sands-based music journalist Mat Smith (Electronic Sound, Further., Clash, Pooleyville.city). With its roots in sound art, field recordings and electronic composition, Mortality Tables recently expanded its focus to encompass multi-disciplinary practice with The Impermanence Project. The project has seen over 75 global collaborators each responding to the concept of ‘impermanence’ – across photography, art, sound art, short films, poetry and essays. The project closed to new submissions in June 2026 and the various sound art responses are being released through mortalitytables.bandcamp.com into 2027.
